Stopped in her for dinner after seeing how packed it was the night before. We arrived early, were seated right away. Took a few minutes for the waitress to come by. Didn't mind waiting cuz it was fun eating peanuts and throwing the shells on the floor. We both ordered the half rack of ribs with sauce on the side. I had steamed veggies, hubby had sweet potato fries. Dinners come with unlimited salad, only offered with house dressing. Speak up when you first order if you don't want red onions and/or pepperocinnis (sp). Rolls come with a cinnamon butter. Our ribs arrived, by a different server, both sauced. Our waitress was at our table within a minute to see if our order was correct. She noticed it wasn't, took them back to the kitchen. Before she left she asked if we wanted more salad and/or rolls. We were concerned that the rest of our dinner would be cold. It wasn't, they replated some unsauced ribs and prepared fresh sides. Ribs were a bit dry, and it was like they threw more of their rub mixture on top. A bit too much for us. Prices were reasonable, service was good, food was okay. Probably wouldn't make another trip in though.

Went on a Wednesday around 6. We had been scalloping, so we were a little tired and hungry. Parking lot was full but we saw a few cars just leaving and grabbed a spot with no trouble. Entry was full of people waiting, but we checked in, were handed a playing card as our number and were told 5-10 min. Sure enough in less than ten minutes the three of us were seated. Restaurant was packed, as was the bar. As expected its a loud place with a Texas roadhouse feel- license plate hanging lamps, peanut shells on the floor, fishing and outdoor shows on the flatscreens, paper sheet covering the table top.... Menu had 2 for one drinks till 7. Cool. Also wednesday was 2 for 1 fajitas. Server came by quickly and took our drink orders. Beer and wine were delivered two at a time- 2 for one. We ordered ribs, chicken and ribs and chicken. Baked potato and coleslaw for sides. Salad is all you like and was delivered a few minutes after we ordered, from a large bowl onto our plates. She also dropped off fresh hot rolls that had a sprinkle of cinnamon and a side of sweetened butter. Our server was servicing other tables right around us. She looked over her tables as she delivered food to other tables. So a very professional server. She checked back to see how we were doing when she saw the drinks or salad going low. Main courses came out less than 15 min later. Hot sauce was on the table. We asked for, and were given additional bbq sauce. Ribs were fall off the bone and moist. Sauces were sweet and sour. I wouldn't say the food is "smoked" like some of the other places. It is good tasting with a good bbq sauce flavor and not over cooked. Plenty of food with each entre. We wound up taking food back with us. One negative, which is the reason not for 4 stars, is that in the half chicken entre: the chicken leg thigh middle section by the bone was just not cooked. The outside was cooked fine, white and juicy, but the middle was pink and translucent. I showed this to the waitress when she came by to bus the table and she said that color is from the way they cook the ckicken. And she took away the plates. Sorry but I've been cooking and eating for too many years not to know raw chicken vs smoked chicken. We'd go back but would cut into the chicken early on to be sure its cooked through.

Decent steak place. The rolls are really good and the loaded baked potato was delicious. Would have gave it 4 stars but I order my steak medium-rare and it came out medium-well. Sent it back and the second one was cooked perfect just kind of sucked that I couldnt eat when everyone else at my table was.

We stopped here after swimming with manatees across the street at river ventures. When we walked in the decor was that of a roadhouse. We were seated in a booth with a bucket of peanuts and greeted by our server. She herself nothing special, bland but the food was not! We started with fresh cut and battered onion rings with codys roadhouse Bbq sauce yummy!! I ordered a buffalo chicken sandwich ( they offer options of mild, medium, hot) I chose medium. It was served on a generic bun with lettuce tomato red onion and codys special garlic ranch. The ranch by itself I didn't care for but with the sandwich it blended well. The sandwich itself was delicious! Large portion of fresh breaded chicken breast doused with the buffalo sauce, just enough to give it a yummy taste but not too much to drown it and loose the crunchy breading. The only disappointment of my plate was the French fries. They were just frozen regular old fries nothing special. My husband ordered the bacon cheese burger. He is a self proclaimed burger critic and hates the idea of frozen burger patties so he was excited that right on the menu it said fresh ground and hand packed burgers. He devoured it. Saying it was delicious. He agreed the only let down was the fries. Overall it was a yummy lunch if you are in the area.

Overall The best place I went to by far in the area. My wife and I came across this place by chance just looking around the area and we were happy we did. I got the ribs and my wife got the chicken. They were not the best we had every had, but for the area the food was amazing compared to other places we went to. The salad and the bread rolls were very good. We loved the garlic ranch dressing on the salad. For other people I would think it would be nice if they had other options though. The service was very good. Right on top of things especially with how busy it ended up getting. We also enjoyed being able to throw the peanut shells on the ground. I love places that allow that :) I don't see many of them anymore.

Went to Codys on a busy Saturday night. After waiting 30 minutes with a very weak drink, we sat at a table that was continuously bumped. After waiting another 30 minutes for food, our sweet potato fries were undercooked and our ribs were ice cold. Overall the food tasted great, the service was on par, but we were definitely disappointed in the quality of our food.

We went there randomly and loved it! Service was great, attentive and friendly. Food was really good and completely exceeded our expectations, portions were huge and there was enough to fill us up and bring home for diner. The restaurant is fun and as tourists, we loved that "typical american" place (to us!). It was also very cheap. I highly recommend this place for a simple, fun yet tasty meal!

Very pleasant experience. Had a prime rib special. Was delicious. It came with a huge bowl of salad, fresh bread with cinnamon butter. 2/1 drinks, friendly service. W What's not to like about all that. by 4:30 there was quite a wait list, but we got there before the line formed. Recommended for casual, fun, good food

We were there early, maybe 6pm. Salads were plain, with some of the iceberg lettuce showing some brown around the edges. Bread was never delivered. We waited for longer than usual for our entrees. As stated, husband's steak was good, though smaller than it should be at these prices. I had ordered the prime rib, rare. What was delivered was medium. No pink existed, let alone rare meat. When I pointed this out, the waitress was very sweet, but said that they had cooked all the prime rib "too much" that night, so this was as close to rare as she could get - even at 6:30pm! What kind of thing is the in a "steakhouse"? She offered to get the menu so I could select another entree, but I wasn't really interested in waiting for my dinner, again, then eating alone. She offered to get the manager. Eventually, she returned and said the manager wouldn't come over to the table. The waitress was apologetic and embarrassed, and we felt badly for her. But the owner of this place should be ashamed of the lack of professionalism from the manager, and the lack of skill in the kitchen. We were charged for the steak, as well as the four glasses of wine we drank. Under the circumstances, at least one of those glasses should have been comped.

Stars: 2.5 Came here after swimming with the manatees and was pretty disappointed. Dissapointment was with our food but service was good. We ordered the full slab of ribs to share and loaded potato as our side. Ribs:. Felt like it was a poor selection of meat. Way to fatty in the meat and felt like the meat prep was half ass d/t the pockets of fat on top. I know ribs and it didn't seem like it was in the smoker for 5 hrs. More like in the smoker for 2 then on the grill. The top part of the rib had a hard layer of dry meat. Which they slathered some sauce to cover it up. I could almost dare say it was from the day before cause of the meat color. All you can eat salad. Just wished they didn't over do the dressing. But I guess you do that when you trying to cover up something. Loaded potato and sweet rolls were the best thing served. Different twist with the cinnamon butter. I liked it.

Our favorite place to eat. We have never been disappointed in any meal, if you are disappointed they will correct the problem immediately. A fun atmosphere

We went on a Wednesday for dinner and it was great! We got a steak and a salmon meal. Plenty of food. Fresh unlimited salad and bread. We found out that Wednesday's deal is 2 for 1 beer and b1g1 free fajitas. Fast service. We didn't do either of the deals but No complaints here!

We gave them 2 chances The first.. chicken came out dry & flavorful The next time came out bland and almost moist. Very busy place wait staff takes a while to check on you. Had to ask for Katup from the next table before French fries got too cold

My friend and I came here after we went swimming with the manatees in Crystal River. One of the employees recommended a restaurant, but we couldn't find it and then just randomly came across Cody's. Lucky for us! It was their anniversary celebration week and they had tons of specials. Normally, they also have have an early bird menu from 3:30 to 6:00pm Monday to Saturday, which we were able to take advantage of. I had the Chicken fried chicken salad. It was massive, and I had tons leftover. It could have easily been an entree for two people and such a deal at $6.98! They also serve it with rolls and a cinnamon butter, which was different...but in a good way! You get a lot of bang for your buck here. The service was very friendly and attentive too.

I don't understand why people like this place. If you know how to eat steak and you weren't raised putting ketchup on a burnt dry piece of meat, you can tell this place is full of bland flavorless junk. They must leave the meat is pans full of water which keeps it moist but let's the blood come out. Did anyone notice if you order meat there it doesn't leave blood on the plate? Medium rare and no blood really? But I went there because my kids like it ha but not any more after my daughter took a bite of her burger and as she pulled it away from her face a big piece of something swings down and slaps the bottom of her chin! Could this be cheese!?!? NOPE a huge hair oh yum I will never eat there again guaranteed.

Stopped for early dinner on way home to Birmingham from Tampa. Great local restaurant in a small town. It was super busy but we still had great service. Reminded me of a better version of a Logan's roadhouse. We happened to be driving by it about 10 minutes before the big dinner rush. So no wait for us BUT as we were leaving there was a wait because it was all you can eat fajita night that evening. Basically a good spot if you are in route somewhere and don't want the yuck of fast foods.

On vacation from Pittsburgh and was starving after a day of scuba diving and swimming. Looking for a local place with a little but of everything and this place was perfect. Great staff, awesome food. Unbeatable deals if you eat at the bar.

There's too much good food tucked around this area to eat at a chain. We came here for the famed two-for-one happy hour (which applies to beer, cocktails and wine). It's a good deal but the food was just as good as every other chain roadhouse or steakhouse you'll ever come across and the same goes for the service.

This is a good place to go if you like a bit of lively-ness, throw peanut shells on the floor kinda place. Wednesday night buy one get one fajitas that are pretty good. They have a happy hour and reasonable prices. Good place for a group.

Our all around favorite place to eat! Love the atmosphere including the peanut shells on the floor. Kids love throwing them on the floor :) The food is consistantly good! Service can be off sometimes. Sometimes there can be a long wait to get in but is very much worth it!

Great place, loved it! The food is really good, but the service is great. What an excellent server we had! I had the biggest and best prime rib of all time. The appetizers, suggested by our waitress, we very good. A definite must if you are in the Crystal River area.

A real steak house! Peanut shells on the floor and all. Not my usually meal but if you I the mood for a perfectly cooked steak and a beer, I say Cody's would be the place to go!

It's a good place for college kids I guess. The food was edible, but definitely not great. The potato soup was industrial-style soup, not homemade for sure. The burger was just okay. The service was great and the restaurant itself is cute. I don't think I would go back.

Good chain steak restaurant. Always busy, even throughout the weekdays. Due to the sheer volume of people they serve, food can be hit or miss depending on time of day you go.

I had the shrimp and ribs. The ribs were some of the best I have had.

Chain steak restaurant, comparable to a lonestar or something. Lots of food with each meal, prices are a little high. The place was packed when we got there, probably one of the more popular places in the area, but not the most original. Typically American chain restaurant :/

Great food, selection, service and value. Really loved the food because everyone could get what they wanted. The waitress was great with a sense of humor and anticipated our needs before we had to ask. We had steak bites, chicken fried steak, burgers, and chicken fried chicken. All good, cooked perfectly, and would go back again and again.

This restaurant is a local hotspot. Look for at least a half hour wait on a Friday or Saturday night. We called ahead and made a reservation but were seated about 20 minutes after our reservation time, 7:45 pm. Our waitress was super. On her game, attentive, there when we needed her and gone when we didn't. We started with fried green tomatoes appetizer. Very good. Served with ranch dressing. I ordered the roasted 1/2 chicken. It comes with (endless) salad and a side. The endless salad only comes with ranch dressing so health conscious beware. Our meals arrived timely. My wife's steak was really good as well as my sons burger was also well prepared, but my chicken was tired. I think that poor bird had been laying in a warming rack for a little too long. He also had telltale puncture wounds from an automatic thermometer in the wing and leg, which looked strange. The leg was pretty much destroyed from the wound. All in all the chicken wasn't too bad. By the size of the crowd and the fact we needed to eat and run I wasn't going to complain. My wife's garlic mashed potatoes fully loaded were excellent. I try to follow a low fat, low carb, and low cholesterol diet. Codys menu is challenging to find items that squeeze into that category. Most menu items are fried, potatoed, buttered, or covered with something bad for you. Codys is a safe bet. Nothing spectacular but the food is hot and good, beer and drinks are cold, and the service is with a smile.

Fried green tomatoes were a good appetizer. My steak was a little overcooked. Lamb was good. Kids meals are inexpensive with free kids meals a few times a week. Rolls were yummy. Love the cinnamon butter! This restaurant reminds me of mannys in Haines city.

At lunch there last week. Had Onion soup, the Beef tips and sweet potato fries. The salad was very fresh and cold. They messed up and put the house dressing on it rather than Blue Cheese as requested. But I am glad!!!! The house dressing is very good! Tips were done to perfection and the sweet potato fries were nice and crispy on the outside yet smooth and creamy inside. The yeast roll was very good just not a fan of the cinnamon butter that came with it. Glad I went a bit early as they got VERY busy by 11:45-12:00. Go, you won't be disappointed.

I have eaten at a Codys before. They are usually par. This one, is horrible. Waited 15 min for bread. The bread was yummy with the cinnamon butter. Then ordered. The food took another 25 min and the steak was very well done when ordered medium rare. The ribs came it burnt black on top. Sent steak back and didn't want anything after that long wait. Ribs were picked at. Had to wait another 20 min for a check. Manger never bothered to come to table to talk with us. What has happened to pride and customer service?? Everything is hurry up and seat as many people to make as much money as we can not worrying about the quality of food or service. My friends say I'm stuck up because I prefer eating at independently owned places or upper scale restaurants. This place proves my point of "you get what you pay for". I would never again visit this location. Management needs training on how to handle situations such as this.

I visited Crystal River for a manatee experience, but we were rained out. Cody's was packed. Their bar had some crazy cheap specials for drinks, apps, and burgers. What also makes this better than a Logan's is you can throw your peanuts on the floor still. This is basically a smaller chain version of Logan's but with better prices. I got a half rack of ribs and they were actually really good.

Was looking for "Checkers" not the burger joint..and ended up exactly at the burger joint. Was going to settle for it but they had no dining room..and when I was shaking my head "no uh uh" to my friend.. I saw this big shiny orange truck that caught my attention. My friend and I walked over being curious and I looked in through the windows and saw peanuts up for grabs. Ok now..my two biggest weaknesses are 1. big orange trucks and 2. peanuts..sold. Long story short...this is your typical burger/steak house joint. My friend and I ordered off the anniversary menu which happened to take place this month, I got the salmon with pilaf, baked potato..and to my surprise a side salad that was probably good enough as a meal itself. The salad is actually tossed right in front of you. At first I thought it was a silver mixing bowl with table gunk that the waitress picked up from the tables cleaning up...but it ended up being my salad. It was a pretty creamy and hearty house salad....and definitely delicious. My friend got the fried chicken salad..and omg that probably could of fed an entire family of 4 or more. Portions are definitely generous here. A good place if you are hungry. This place is kid friendly but if you don't want to be friendly to the kids, there is also a full service bar. Total bill was $16.00 Yee Haw!
